Privacy Policy
StepScout is built for public event discovery. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: April 25, 2026
Information We Collect
You can browse StepScout without creating an account. We may collect basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from technical signals, and timestamps.
If you contact us, report a problem, or request that event information be corrected or removed, we collect the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, message, and any event details included in the request.
If you subscribe to email updates, we collect your email address and subscription status so we can send confirmations, updates, and unsubscribe links.
StepScout also displays event information from public organizer listings and source platforms. That information may include event names, organizer names, venue details, images, descriptions, dates, prices, and links back to the original source.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate the site, show event listings, improve search and filtering, troubleshoot bugs, protect the service, send requested email updates, respond to requests, and maintain accurate source attribution.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how people use StepScout, such as which cities, views, or event types are most useful.
Cookies, Logs, and Error Monitoring
StepScout may use essential cookies, browser storage, server logs, and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember interface preferences, secure admin-only areas, and understand performance.
If error monitoring is enabled, diagnostic information may be sent to a monitoring provider so we can find and fix crashes. We do not use this information to sell advertising profiles.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help host, secure, monitor, or maintain StepScout; with source platforms when you follow an external event link; when required by law; or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, organizers, source platforms, and the site.
Third-Party Sites
Event listings may link to third-party websites, ticketing pages, social platforms, venue pages, or organizer pages. Their privacy practices are controlled by those third parties, not by StepScout. Review their policies before sharing information or buying tickets.
Retention and Security
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law, security, backup, or dispute-resolution needs. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee perfect security.
Your Choices
You may ask us to access, correct, delete, or stop using personal information associated with you, subject to legal and operational limits. If you are a California resident or live somewhere with privacy rights, you may have additional rights under applicable law.
Email subscription messages include an unsubscribe link that can be used at any time.
To make a request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Children's Privacy
StepScout is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The latest version will be posted here with a new last-updated date. This version was last updated on April 25, 2026.
